How to identify the quality of granite

How to identify the quality of granite? Granite curb stones with fine material and uniform structure are fine in texture and are good stone products; coarse-grained and different-grained stones with different particle structures have poor appearance, uneven mechanical properties and slightly poor quality.

In addition, due to the influence of geological processes, stone often produces some fine lines and micro-cracks. The stone can easily break along these points, so be careful when removing it.

Since the lack of edges and corners affects the appearance more, special attention should be paid to the quantity when selecting, that is, measuring the size of the stone, so as not to affect the splicing, or cause the pattern, pattern, and lines to be deformed after splicing, affecting the decorative effect.

A good granite curb stone is dense and uniform inside, without micro-cracks, and the knocking sound is crisp and pleasant; on the contrary, if there are micro-cracks or fine veins inside the stone, or the contact between particles is loose due to weathering, the knocking sound will be louder.

Test the quality of a stone with a simple test: usually put a small drop of ink on the back of the stone. If the ink disperses quickly, that is, the particles inside the stone are loose or there are micro-cracks, the stone is of poor quality; conversely, if the ink drips in place, the stone is dense and has good texture.
